Job Description
The Western Force are a seeking a Payroll and Accounts Payables Officer on a full time permanent contract. This is versatile role that is primarily aimed at providing administrative and processing support in the areas of payroll and accounts payable within the Finance team. The successful candidate will have the opportunity for a flexible working arrangement with ability to work from home 1 day a week.
The role requires accurate and timely payments to suppliers and employees whilst maintaining related records to comply with organisational and legal requirements.
Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to;
Payroll
Preparation and processing of the organisation's monthly payroll
processing new employee records and master file maintenance of all payroll related transactions including transfers, allowances, deductions, superannuation, salary packaging, tax and workers compensation payments
being the first point of contact for employees on pay related queries and managing the query through to resolution in consultation with the employee
Reconciliation and preparation of payments for salary deductions, superannuation contributions and tax payments
preparation of monthly, quarterly and ad hoc reports for finance and other internal and external parties as required
preparation of payroll journals and reconcilliation of payroll related general ledger accounts
maintain relationships with staff within support functions and external parties (e.g. superannuation funds, ATO) to contribute to quality service delivery of payroll operations and activities
ensure the consistent application of best practice payroll processes as directed
Analysis of awards and enterprise agreement to ensure all payments are calculated accurately
Accounts Payable
verify accuracy of supplier invoices
review coding and approvals ensuring they comply with financial policies and procedures
schedule pay runs based on standard company payment terms
liaise with internal and external customers to resolve queries
verify and process employee expense claims
update and maintain vendor database in a timely manner
perform reconciliations including supplier reconciliations, credit card reconciliations and more
support the month end process by providing supporting documentation for month end journals
report on aged payables and other ad hoc reporting, where applicable
identify improvements to the accounts payable process
complete supplier credit applications
any ad hoc requests as required by the Finance Team
Desired Skills and Experience
To be successful in this role you will need the following experience, skills and qualifications:
minimum 5+ years experience in a high volume and fast paced payroll / accounts payable environment
willingness to uphold the mission, vision and values of the organisation
strong attention to detail
confidence in dealing with internal and external stakeholders
strong problem solving, decision making and analytical skills
ability to work collaboratively within a team
excellent communication skills, both verbally and written
proven experience in project related payroll work
experience in a range of payroll and accounting software products
advanced computing skills in MS office suite
a certificate IV in payroll administration, is highly desirable
